The Slow Mo Guys Spin a CD So Fast It Shatters

High speeds cameras are a magical technology that give us a glimpse into a world we wouldn’t otherwise see. The world that humming birds, komodo dragons, and other fast creatures see all the time, their eyes opening and closing at close to 1,000 times per second, nearly the speed of light.

None of this is true, of course, but what is true… is that Gavin and Dan, also known as the “The Slow Mo Guys” on YouTube, attached a CD to a vacuum motor and spun it so fast that it warped, shattered, and ultimately blew to pieces.

I’m sorry if I’ve spoiled the experience for you…

Pretty cool, right? Besides, who needs stupid old CDs these days anyway? We may as well spin all of them until they explode. Physical media is for suckers.

Anyway… if you’re interested in seeing more awesome slow motion footage, then you need only head over to the official Slow Mo Guys’ YouTube channel where they film everything from molotov cocktails to shooting handguns underwater.
