The Secret History of Archery — Taking Modern Archery to a Whole New Level

I’m super excited for you. You’re about to watch a video that, just a few hours ago, completely blew my mind. I know, I know… you’ve heard that one before. So I’ll end my sales pitch here and simply say this: everything you thought you knew about archery was wrong.

We’ve all seen the movies with men like Robin Hood and elves like Legolas shooting arrows at blazing speeds, but the reality is actually so much cooler than that. If you think their skills are impressive, wait until you see what Danish archer Lars Andersen can do. If you haven’t seen my earlier article on him, the one where I talk about how he developed his skills, then definitely check that out first. After that, get ready to see something incredible.

Lars Andersen: A New Level of Archery

One more thing before you watch this, a little disclaimer, if you will. Everything you see in this video is absolutely real, right down to Lars shooting an arrow while jumping and… well, you’ll see.

I tend to look to the future instead of the past, but it’s becoming ever more clear to me that there’s valuable insights to be gained from history, be it archery techniques or diplomatic negotiations. We can’t change the past, but we can certainly learn from it.

Archery may not be as useful a skill as it was even 100 years ago, but just imagine what other valuable bits of knowledge have been lost through the eons. Can you imagine? Perhaps next year we’ll be watching another video very much like this, but on a completely different topic. Another person obsessed with unlocking history’s secrets.
