MGS V: Phantom Pain Watch — Big Boss’ Seiko

I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve written about watches here on Unfinished Man; that’s usually Faisal’s domain. As I’ve probably mentioned a few times over the years, I don’t actually even wear a watch.

They’re a single purpose device that serves no useful purpose in 2015, and yet… I’m oddly drawn to this Seiko replica of the Big Boss watch from Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Maybe it’s because I’m a recent convert and huge fan of the series. Maybe it’s because I’m losing my mind. In truth, I really don’t know.

Here, watch the trailer and tell me if you think I’m crazy.

It’s a thing, right? It’s an expensive thing if I’m being perfectly honest with myself. Apparently this is a limited edition run of just 2,500 units and they’re going to cost about $375 USD each. That is, before I buy up all the watches and sell them on eBay for double the price! I’m kidding. (kind of)

Anyway… you can buy this sexy, nerdy, glorious watch right here, providing you can read Japanese. Translation software might work too, but I feel like it often fails pretty miserably on Japanese to English translations. All the terrible Japanese adult videos are a testament to that sad, sad, reality.
