Far Cry 4 – Launch Trailer

It’s been a busy month for Ubisoft, with two major releases – Assassins Creed: Unity and Far Cry 4 – only a week apart. We can only hope that the Far Cry 4 launch goes a little smother than what we saw with Assassin’s Creed: Unity. In other words, hopefully they’ve actually had time to… you know, finish making this game. Complete, and largely free of bugs and glitches.

A man can hope, right?

So I’m going to try and stay positive here. After all, I’ve absolutely loved all of the previous Far Cry games, and Far Cry 4 does look fantastic. This new launch trailer is no exception. It’s quite possibly the longest trailer Ubisoft has released to promote the game, and it shows a whole lot. Having said that, I’ve watched it a few times, and I wouldn’t say there are any major spoilers.

No, you’ll just be treated to some beautiful scenery and one amazing DJ.

Far Cry 4 – Overview Trailer (PS4/Xbox One)

Weighing in at around 8 minutes, this trailer is pretty hefty. You’ll get to meet the locals, see the many unique and deadly weapons, ride around in some of the vehicles, learn the skills and crafting abilities you’ll pick up in Kyrat, and pay a visit to Shangri-La. After that you’re off for a bit of co-op and PVP action.

My only hope for Far Cry 4 is that it’s as least as good as the last Far Cry game. I had more fun with than game than I care to admit, and providing they can maintain that, I’m happy. If they’re able to improve on it, well… I’ll believe it when I see it. After the disappointment of Assassin’s Creed: Unity, I’m not going to hold my breath. Instead, I’ll remain cautiously optimistic.

Far Cry 4 will be available on November 18th, 2014, for all major platforms. Let’s pray to whatever gods inhabit Shangri-La that it’s a good one.
