Fine Living

Most people enjoy the finer things in life, such as a pint of beer on a hot summer day, or an attractive, scantily clad woman bending over to retrieve her car keys. However, some people crave fine things of another type; gadgets, gear, travel, and even the occasional cooking recipe are all topics you’ll find under our fine living category. Chances are you’ll see a picture of the occasional scantily clad woman as well.

Portable Water and Surface Sanitizer

I’ve had my share of bad experiences with poor water quality when traveling. In Pakistan, I drank bottled Nestle water for a month and one of the bottles had a very different taste compared to the others. I wasn’t too sure about it and being a dumb ass – I drank it anyway. Sure enough, I had the runs for the next 36 hours or so. The bottle must have been tampered with and refilled.

Getting sick while traveling is part of the experience but I think most people would like to avoid it. One great way to avoid the incident I experienced is to invest a few dollars in the Portable Water and Surface Sanitizer. The device uses similar technology that is used to sanitize hospital instruments. continue reading →

privacy pop bed tent

When I first saw the Privacy Pop Bed Tent, the sequence of thoughts that ran through my mind went something like this:
“Wow, does that thing ever look incredibly stupid.”
“You could do terrible, terrible things in there and no one could see. ”
“No ass holes or the sun could ever wake me up!”
“…all of that is actually pretty great.”
So maybe I wouldn’t put it on my bed at home, but it actually looks like it would be the traveller’s (and the pervert’s) best friend. continue reading →

Evolution of man eraser

Whether you believe in evolution or are a creationist, the evolution of man eraser should put a smile on your face.  If it doesn’t then you don’t have a sense of humor and need to spend a little more time on Unfinished Man.

The Evolution Erasers are created by Japanese designer Hiroyuki Shiratori and feature the famous evolution picture of an ape evolving into the modern-day man.  The erasers are shaped into an ape on one side and a man on the other side.  As the eraser is used (yes people still use paper/pencils/erasers), it slowly evolves into continue reading →

TuboHotel in Tepoztlan Mexico

Over the last couple of years we’ve shown you some very unique places to stay at while you’re traveling around the world and today we would like to introduce you to Tubo Hotel, located in Tepoztlan, Mexico, just outside of Mexico City.

The Tubo Hotel is designed by T3arc Architecture and is a hotel where guests sleep in recycled concrete drainage pipes.  To keep construction costs low, drainage pipes that didn’t meet the required specs to be used as drainage pipes were bought and converted into hotel rooms.  To make better use of the available land, the concrete pipes were placed in a pyramid format, two at the bottom and one on top of them. continue reading →

Sungwing Glider

First there was cruising above the surface of the water with the Jetlev R200, and then came the not so cool Aquaskipper, where you use human power to propel yourself across the surface of the water in a very lame looking contraption.

And now we have the Subwing, where you get to glide under water as a dolphin would. It’s basically a small wing you hold on to while being pulled along by a boat. The Subwing allows you to move sideways, twist, and even dive. Based on what I saw in the video below, one could hurt themselves if not careful. But then again, that can apply to anything. continue reading →

customized man handmade jar speakers

Calling all our weekend warriors! We’ve featured some home décor that some of you have expressed wanting to try out yourself, and we’ve featured some ridiculously expensive custom speakers. I saw this great project for an easily made speaker set, and another creative idea for handmade jar speakers utilizing it. The jar speakers look awesome, but it got me wondering about the ability to create housings for them out of… well, just about anything. If you’re looking for relatively simple electronics and something completely unique for your man cave, this just might be the thing for you. continue reading →

Arsenal Firearms Double Barrel Pistol

In a move that’s both completely overkill and undeniably awesome, Arsenal Firearms has created an updated version of a classic American sidearm, the Colt 1911. The Colt 1911 has been in service since time immemorial, but never quite like this. You see, the AF2011-A1 has not just one barrel, but two. Each squeeze of the trigger actually fires both barrels at once, in what essentially amounts to a hand cannon. Why a person would need this much stopping power I can’t imagine, but it sure looks impressive.

Arsenal Firearms markets this sidearm as being powerful enough to knock down a bull, and I don’t think they’re exaggerating. The double barrel “Second Century” pistol holds a whopping 18 rounds, all of which can be continue reading →

Zero Calorie Inhale desserts Vaportrim

I think inhaling random things is a trend that is catching on pretty quick. A few months ago, I talked about the Bacon Inhaler. And we already know about the e-cigarettes which is a less harmful way to “smoke” and get that nicotine fix.

And now, we have desserts that you can inhale and are available in all kinds of delicious flavors such as cupcakes, cinnamon bun, raspberry cheesecake, pina colada, caramel frappe, and many more. I actually don’t know if they are delicious since I haven’t tried any and I’m a bit skeptical regarding the taste. I could be wrong but I imagine it having a chemical like after taste. The Vaportrim inhalers are apparently supposed to help you lose weight, according to the company. continue reading →

Tag Heuer Racer Smartphone

TAG Heuer is mostly (99.99%) known for their watches but they also dipped their toes into the luxury smartphone market with the Link phone and now they’ve introduced the TAG Heuer Racer cellphone.

The TAG Heuer Racer smartphone is designed after GT race cars and features lightweight materials normally found on racing cars.  The phone’s chassis and body is made out of carbon fiber and titanium and the phone comes with shock resistant rubber encasement to protect the inner workings from getting damaged if/when it falls out of the user’s hands. continue reading →

DODOcase iPad 3 cover

The iPad 3 (or iPad HD) hasn’t even been released yet and we’re already seeing accessories for it.  Since I’m an iPad owner now, I have started to take notice of what cool accessories are available and here we have a cover for the iPad 3 by DODOcase.

The cover/case is called DODOcase Spring Summer and it looks like a book, which is a great way to deter thieves since we know thieves don’t read (… tradition books, they’re into Kindles).  The iPad 3 covers come in continue reading →
