You Know You’re Rich When Your Shoelaces Are Made Out of Gold

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “he/she was raised/born with a silver spoon in their mouth”, well I guess now you can add this saying to describe the filthy rich: “he/she was raised with golden shoelaces on their shoes”.

The limited edition gold shoelaces are created by a company called Mr. Kennedy and they cost a whopping $19,000 per pair, with only 10 pairs being produced.  The shoelaces are made out of pure gold using ancient artisan jewelry techniques by weaving strands of gold.  The laces are hand-made by Colombian workers using gold mined from the Middle Cauca Gold Belt and each set takes 120 hours to craft.  If you’re not part of the elite 1%ers, they also have a limited 30 pair run of silver shoelaces that are priced more reasonably at $3,000 a pair. 😉

I’m not sure how much gold and silver is in each pair and whether they’re 24k or less.  According to the website, each pair of the gold shoelaces will be delivered by security personnel and laced for you anywhere in the world.  Now if only they’d send someone to tie your shoes for you on a daily basis, then I might consider a pair in gold and silver.

If you want to see these shoelaces in action, I suggest you keep an eye out for the latest rap video or spend some time on Wall Street; I’m sure the bankers can afford these “works of art”.
