Why You Should Throw Out Your New Years Resolutions For 2019

New years resolutions are a fairly common practice throughout the world. While this is a tradition that has helped countless people lose weight, try out a new job or even declare their feelings for someone important, a New Year’s resolution doesn’t always help us achieve what we are looking for in life.

Here are some top reasons why you should not set a New Year’s resolution for 2019:

Treat every single day like January 1
A New Year shouldn’t be symbolic of a fresh start or a reason to start working towards your goals. Everyday you wake up you should keep your goals in mind and focus on some new or small resolutions that you could make. Focusing in on small and attainable goals can help you work towards a larger one and this is often an improved way to focus on resolution.

You don’t have to compare yourself to others
Some of the most unhappy people in life are constantly chasing resolutions because they want to keep up with their friends or neighbors. Feeling constantly unhappy with yourself and regularly trying to work towards new goals can often lead to a resolution that you simply cannot achieve. Being happy with yourself and accepting the situation that you are in can often be a healthier choice.

Many New Year’s resolutions fail
Starting a brand-new year falling into a difficult new routine can often be stressful. You’ve just gone through the stress of the holidays and there are a number of challenges such as going back to work and more. Stacking on a brand-new resolution to all of this can leave you feeling overwhelmed and it can often lead to the chance that your resolution could fail. Rather than putting so much pressure on your new years resolution, set goals throughout the year.

Keep some of these ideas in mind if you are setting a New Year’s resolution for 2019. Stepping back from a resolution may be a wiser choice instead!
