What’s The Worst That Could Happen?

I try and keep my preaching to a minimum in my articles. After all, most of you are here either to be entertained, or to learn a useful new skill. So believe me when I say that I don’t write articles like this lightly.

I suspect you already know what this article is about, but I’m going to say it anyway so we’re all on the same page: drunk driving. Many lives are still lost each year due to people driving while intoxicated, so here I am again, reminding you that it’s a very, very stupid idea. This is one guideline that I’ll gladly shame you into following.

Let’s start with this…

Feel better now? No, I suppose you probably don’t. It’s easy to dismiss such things as fantasy, but I’m here to tell you they most certainly aren’t. I’m also here to tell you that this is a problem that’s absolutely solvable, as long as people like you speak up.

I know you’re much too smart to ever drink and drive, but maybe your friends haven’t thought about this as much as you have. Maybe they don’t know better, which is why you’re going to be a good friend and stop them from getting behind the wheel of a car after they’ve polished off 3 bottles of wine, right? You’re a good friend, aren’t you?

Maybe they’ll be fine this time. Maybe they’ll even be fine the next. But one day your friend is going to get behind the wheel of that car and kill themselves, and probably someone else as well. Now imagine being the person that could have said something and didn’t. I have a feeling sleep wouldn’t come easy for you, not for a long, long time. But between me, you, and organizations like RK Ventures and ENDWI, we can make sure no one ever dies like this again.
