Getting on a standup paddleboard for the very first time can be an intimidating experience and in most cases, a wet one. The SipaBoard is here to make things a little easier for you to enjoy the calm waters. For starters, the SipaBoard is self-inflating saving you time or at the very least, energy since no pumping is required on your part. The SipaBoard does all of the hard work for you thanks to its air compressor and it’s more convenient than a hard-body board since you can pack it into a backpack.
The SipaBoard is powered by a jet propulsion engine – the SipaDrive. The jet-propulsion system is hidden inside the plastic housing which is built into the board helping to eliminate drag when the motor is off and only using manpower to paddle along. This also helps preventing things from getting caught in the propeller like fish, twigs, rocks, and fingers.
SipaBoard Introduction
The motor is emission-free and extremely quiet, so quiet that you can even take it out on protected waters without causing a disturbance to the wildlife. The five settings allow you to travel at speeds as high as 3.5 knots for one hour or three hours at a cruising speed of 2 knots. You can travel even faster should you use the electric motor and physically paddle. With the assistance from the electric motor, you can even travel upstream.
It’s not just an efficient board but it’s also a smart one. The paddle features two buttons which are used to control for the motor speed and fast shut-off. The motor is also able to detect when the paddle falls in the water and will automatically shut itself off as a safety feature insuring the board and paddle are never separated.
The entire SipaBoard is compact and will fit into a backpack allowing you to carry it almost anywhere. The electric paddleboard has been successfully funding on Kickstarter but it’s still not too late to get your hands on this interesting unit. Check out the SipaBoard website for more details.
