Ranger’s Back: 2019 Ford Ranger Mid-Size Pick Up

There was a time when you had quite a few small trucks to pick from, then the American manufacturers decided to stop producing these “smaller” trucks, leaving the market to the Japanese, mainly the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier. GM came back into the game a few years ago and now Ford has decided it is time to get back in the game with an all-new (for North America) Ranger.

I mentioned small truck above, these trucks have grown in size and are now considered mid-size trucks, we now have the two above mentioned Japanese trucks, the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon and the Honda Ridgeline, I don’t know if the Ridgeline would fit in the same category.

The new 2019 Ford Ranger, which started production this week, is a decent looking truck. It keeps the look of the Ford family. The interior is also very familiar, with the usual look of Ford vehicles.

The 2019 Ford Ranger will come in three trims, all in SuperCab or SuperCrew, the trims are XL, XLT, and Lariat. There will be a Ranger Raptor, but I believe Ford has said it’s not coming to North America, I personally think it will come here, but maybe not right away.

The 2019 Ford Ranger will be powered by a 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission, both of which we’ve seen before in other Ford offerings.
