Only Watch 2015: Jacob & Co. Epic SF24 Pièce Unique

Here’s one of the more unique watches at the Only Watch 2015 auction, the Jacob & Co. Epic SF24 Pièce Unique. In addition to traditional time telling feature with the standard three hands, the watch also comes with a GMT complication.

However, it’s no ordinary GMT, instead of housing a third big hand on the dial (like on most traditional GMT watches), Epic SF24 has a horizontal cylindrical display at the top of the case. The GMT display is said to be based on retro billboards found on train stations and airports, with rotating flaps showing different cities and times.

The flaps consist of 24 major city names, but upon winning the auction, the new owner can have it customized with their favorite cities. Changing the GMT cities is achieved by depressing the red button on the left side of the display. So based on the pictures, the secondary city is Geneva and the time there is 6:10 PM.

The Jacob & Co. Epic SF24 Pièce Unique watch comes in a 45mm Grade 5 titanium case with sapphire crystal on the front and display caseback, with black alligator strap with red stitching and titanium deployant buckle. The dial is black with a small second sub dial, red Roman numerals, and skeletonized hands with red highlights at the tips. The red highlights are also present on the side of the case and the crown.

The watch is powered by an in-house JCAA02 caliber self-winding automatic movement and consists of 473 components. The Jacob & Co. Epic SF24 Pièce Unique watch will be auctioned on November 7, 2015 along with 42 other watches at the 2015 Only Watch charity auction. Via: Phillips
