One of the most popular line of watches from Omega is the Speedmaster series, especially the Speedmaster Professional, I’m getting one this weekend. Another popular line is their Seamaster line and the various versions of those watches.
The latest timepiece from the Swiss watchmaker is in the Seamaster line and is called the Omega Seamaster 300 Vintage Leather. I prefer this model over the recently introduced Seamaster Diver 300 ETNZ watch.
The new watch has the classic Seamaster look, which looks even more vintage with the brown calf leather strap with contrasting white stitching. The watch comes in a 41 mm case with a black and Ceragold bezel and 18k Sedna rose gold crown. The hands are also finished in rose gold, which is nicely offset by the black dial and white numerals. The hour markers also have a gold color and are finished with SuperLuminova lume and glow blue. The dial is covered with AR coated sapphire crystal and the display caseback uses a sapphire crystal to give us a peek at the inner workings.
The Omega Seamaster 300 Vintage Leather watch is powered by an in-house Omega caliber 8400 automatic movement with a Co-Axial escapement. The movement has a 60 hour power reserve and is resistant to magnetic fields of more than 15,000 gauss and the is water resistant to 300 meters. MSRP: $8,500 via Omega.
