Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class lineup continues to expand with the addition of the latest car, the C-Class Estate (or wagon). The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate will be available at European dealerships in September, no word on if or when the Estates will be available in North America.

The new C-Class wagon looks pretty much exactly like the sedan, of course, instead of trunk, there’s a big hatch area; and there’s a chrome bar connecting the pair of taillights at the rear. The main purpose of these cars is to carry lots of things, and to do that, the car had to be stretched a bit. The new C-Class Estate is longer (96 mm), wider (40 mm), and has a larger wheel base (80 mm) than the car it replaces.

The C-Class wagon is offered with the same engines offered on the sedan in Europe. Customers have the option to buy diesel, gasoline, or hybrid versions of this car. According to Mercedes, the engines in the new cars are 20% more fuel efficient and the cars weigh up to 143 pounds less than the previous generation C-Class Estates. Via: MB
