Level Lock – A Smart Deadbolt

Level lock, from former Apple employees and the founders of Level Home, is a smart controlled deadbolt. The Level lock is enabled with WiFi and Bluetooth and can be controlled through an accompanying app. Users can unlock their doors via Bluetooth and can also send a text message with a code/pass to a friend if they need to get inside the home when you are away. It can also monitor the amount of people that enter and leave the house. The Level Lock on its own works well but when it used along with Apple’s HomeKit software, the software becomes more useful. With HomeKit or other similar smart hubs, automation scripts can be created which would allow users to enter and leave their homes without worrying about locking them, because it has already been automated.

Unlike other smart locks, this deadbolt fits inside your existing lock and thereby preventing changing the look of your home. The Level Lock is meant to be a simple solution to remotely unlock your door or unlock it when can’t find your key without complicated technology.

Although not many details have been released about the mechanism of the lock and how it works, you can reserve a Level Lock now. They become available to the public in January 2020. The lock will retail for $250.
