Difference Between Hybrid And Non-Hybrid Palisade
I have talked extensively about the 2026 Hyundai Palisade in review last year, so I’m not going to bore you with the details again. You can have a look at that review for all the features offered on the Palisade.
Here we’ll focus on what’s different between the hybrid and non-hybrid versions.
Engine
The gasoline only version of the Palisade is with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, producing 287 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel consumption is rated at 12.2/9.7/11.1 liters/100 kilometers in city/highway/combined driving.
The Palisade HEV is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, producing 329 horsepower at 5,800 and 339 pound-feet of torque between 1,800 – 4,5000 rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
This powerhouse combines a gasoline engine delivering 258 hp at 5,800 RPM with 260 lb-ft of torque, plus an electric motor that adds up to 72 hp at 2,000 to 3,000 RPM and 195 lb-ft of torque at roughly 1,900 RPM. The lithium-ion battery, rated at 300V with 5.5Ah capacity and 1.65 kWh of energy, feeds power to the electric motor and works with the gas engine for smooth, responsive acceleration.
You get all that power without sacrificing fuel economy. That matters when you’re spending hard-earned cash at the pump.
The 2026 Hyundai Palisade HEV’s fuel consumption is rated at 8.3/7.9/8.1 L/100 km in city/highway/combined driving.
Towing Capacity
The other major difference is the towing capacity, if you’re into that kind of a thing. The gasoline version is rated at up to 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg) and the Palisade HEV is rated at 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg). This number might be important to people looking to tow a camper, boat, or other stuff.
