Furniture That Makes Ikea Green With Envy

I haven’t decided what I like better; the fact that these pieces are aesthetically pleasing, or that they’re extremely practical. Like most people, you probably sleep on a bed, but does your bed transform into a table, or fold backwards into your wall? I didn’t think so.

These transforming furniture pieces are designed by the Italian company CLEI, and distributed in North America by Resource Furniture, who’s owners (Steve Spett and Ron Barth) clearly have a passion for importing unique, well constructed furniture.

What I find especially interesting is that these pieces were designed in cooperation between a hardware company, a mechanical engineer, and of course a furniture designer. The designer would dream up the styles and functionality, and the other two parties would work to create them in a practical way.

I wasn’t able to find any information on pricing, but considering their market, I have a feeling that price would be little concern for potential customers.
