Everybody that knows me is already well aware that I’m fascinated by aircraft and anything aviation related. I’ve been considering purchasing a kit helicopter or aircraft and I came across this Velocity Aircraft. The type of aircraft I was looking for was actually Radio Controlled aircraft but the Velocity Aircraft is so much cooler.
The kit from Velocity Aircraft is a DIY job but unlike an RC Aircraft, this thing can actually fly four passengers along with light cargo. The company’s business is based around selling “experimental aircraft” kits that can easily be built in your own garage. And when I say easily, I actually mean “easily”. You don’t have to be an aviation expert as the company offers a comprehensive manual which also includes videos and a hotline just in case you royally screw it up.
The Kits range in price from $65,000 up to $125,000 which is considered pretty affordable when compared to pre-built aircraft. The company also provides pre-assembled components such as the fuselage and wings if you feel that you are not up to the task of the more complicated sections of the aircraft. Whichever model you end up with, the end result is one bad ass and unconventional looking aircraft that can reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour and fly at altitudes of up to 12,000 feet.
