Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow Co-Axial

Omega puts a modern twist on its iconic Speedmaster watch line with the new Speedmaster Broad Arrow Co-Axial watch.  I’m a huge fan of Omega watches, they are one of the better priced “luxury” watches.  Seeing pictures of the new Speedy put a big smile on my face and a whole lot of drool on my keyboard.

I think the Speedmaster Broad Arrow looks hot with its black face (silver face is also available, black looks better imo) and the red highlights on its chrono hands.  The honeycombed chronograph sub-dials look right at home, and to top it off, the Speedmaster is equipped with a soft looking black alligator leather strap.  A metal bracelet is also available for an extra $100.

Tissot Seastar 1000 Chronograph Dive Watch

TISSOT-Seastar-1000-Chronograph

When Swiss watches are mention in a conversation, Tissot is probably the last watch I think of and most of my “watch guy” friends think the same way.  I don’t know why they don’t get the respect, they have been manufacturing fine timepieces since 1853 and they are the official timekeepers of many sporting events and they even sponsor Renault and Lotus Formula 1 teams.

Tissot’s latest watch, the Seastar 1000 Chronograph has made me look more into their watch collection, they do have some nice watches.  The Seastar 1000 is one of those nice watches and it’s a very elegant diver’s watch, the styling reminds me a bit of Oris dive watches for some reason.

Only Watch 2011: Bovet 7-Day Tourbillon

Only-Watch-2011-Bovet-watch-clock-pocket

The Bovet 7-day Tourbillon is my favorite watch, so far, out of all the watches we’ve posted about that will be auctioned at the Only Watch charity event to be held in Monaco in September 2011.  All the watches that are going to be auctioned off are incredible pieces of workmanship but the Bovet 7-day Tourbillon with Reverse Hand-Fitting is not only an amazing work of art, it also comes with a few very unique features.

The most impressive feature of this watch, apart from the intricately handcrafted front and back, is the fact that it can be worn as a wristwatch, turned into a pocket watch, or even used as a table clock, without using any tools.  The other main feature of the watch is its two dials, there are functioning hour and minute hands on both the front and back of the watch.

Concept: Tokyoflash Sudoku Puzzle Watch

I got pretty excited when I first saw the concept Tokyoflash Sudoku Puzzle watch because I used to be obsessed with Sudoku puzzles and I love watches, but it was a huge let down when I saw the puzzles on the watch which are not really challenging.  The idea behind the watch is a game of Sudoku and if you want to know what time it is, you have to solve the puzzle.

At first glance the concept watch seems very complicated and you’d think you have to spend a bit of time solving the puzzle just to see what time it is.  The puzzle is actually quite simple and is only missing a few numbers and those missing numbers just happen to be the numbers that correspond to current time.  So if the time is 12:52:37, those numbers will be missing from the puzzle and you’d have put them in to tell what time it WAS (was because by the time you solve it, the time would have change by at least 30 seconds).  See picture below on how to tell time on the Sudoku puzzle watch.

In4mation Themed Casio G-Shock Watch

A week ago we showed you the completely white-out G-Shock watch, while it was a good looking watch, it might have been a bit too bleached-out for some.  So today we bring you another white G-Shock watch but this one comes with a black dial and lettering to break up white.

The watch is a collaboration between Hawaii’s clothing company In4mation and Casio on the G-Shock GLX-150X-7JR.  Personally I prefer the look of this watch over the one we showed you last week, I think telling time on that one might be a bit hard on a bright sunny day.

Cyrus Klepcys Mars Watch

Cyrus Klepcys Mars Watches

Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, you’ve probably heard of the Curiosity Rover landing on Mars, what you probably haven’t heard of is a Geneva based watchmaker, Cyrus.  What does the planet Mars have to do with a watchmaker?  Well, they just released a watch called Cyrus Klepcys Mars that features a Mars globe and the famous “Face on Mars”.  I’m not sure if the timing of the release of this watch and Curiosity landing on Mars was planned or just a coincidence.

This is not the first time we’ve posted about a 3D planet on a watch, check out Greubel Forsey’s watch with the planet earth here, but this is the first watch based on the red planet.  The Cyrus Klepcys Mars watch comes in two different cases, titanium and black DLC titanium, each watch is limited to 33 pieces.
