When I hear the name Hublot, I automatically think of big, in your face luxury watches, a sled (or sledge to some) never would’ve crossed my mind.  But that’s exactly what they created and it is a luxurious one, the Hublot Sled makes use of materials you’d find in luxury automobiles.

The sled uses steel for the runners, ash wood and carbon fiber for the structure and hand-sewn leather for the seat.  The sled was made in collaboration with ECAL, Lausanne University of Art and Design.  Only 10 of these luxurious sleds will be produced and we expect them to cost more than a brand new small car.

There are plenty of cases for the iPad and iPad 2 out there but none of them really do it for me. All these companies claim to offer protection for our beloved gadget but one company really means it when they promise protection for the Apple iPad.

The iPad Extreme Sleeve by G-Form is so bloody tough that an iPad can withstand a hit from a 12-pound bowling ball. The secret is all in the PORON XRD material which is usually found in sports equipment. PORON XRD material is flexible under normal conditions but hardens upon impact. And yes, I like saying the word PORON. The material is lightweight, flexible, and water-resistant.

I’ve been looking into buying a macro lens for my Canon DSLR camera because I like to take close up pictures of gadgets and my watch collection but every time I look at prices of macro lenses, I get the shivers.  I may give the Macro Cell Lens Band a shot.

The Macro Cell Lens Band makes use of a rubber band and what looks to be a small magnifying glass, that attaches to your phone and gives you close up shots.  And here I thought rubber bands were only good for launching them at your co-workers.  The lens easily slips over the phone and is held in place with the rubber band and when not in use, just slip it over your wrist or the card it comes for easy storage, no need to carry big bags to carry your extra lenses.

Snowboarding season is still in effect and the guys over at Pirelli, Italian tire-maker, and Burton (snowboarding gurus) have teamed up for a little project. I wasn’t aware that a tire maker and a company that makes snowboarding gear would collaborate to make a limited edition snowboard. But then again, Pirelli does make some badass snow tires.

The project in question is the ‘Pirelli Pzero x Burton’ which will feature high performing Pirelli outsole built with Pirelli’s signature rubber compounds and a special tread pattern for optimum traction on the slopes. These snowboards are some of the lightest in Burton’s portfolio and will feature lightweight Burton Pirelli diode EST bindings which will provide superior comfort and performance for riders.
