Bulking Not For You? Try This!

The infamous bulking season is upon us. A time where gym fanatics and body builders all over the world stop their strict diet and embark on months of eating as much as they can. They still stick to some regime in a way, but the reigns are let loose a little. But if you’re a dedicated member of the gym, but don’t have body building in mind, then a different path may be for you. A lot of people head to the gym to tone up and lose weight, but find it hard for a number of different reasons. Does this sound like you? Then read on and try something new!

The first thing you need to do is be dedicated. If you really want to make a change to your body you need to put in the effort. A training session once a week isn’t going to have the impact you need it to, even though you may feel like you’ve accomplished something. To truly make a difference to your appearance, you need to be training at least 3 times a week. But when you’re there, are you the type of person that does 5 minutes on the bike, texts for a bit, does another 5 minutes, then maybe attempts some light weights for a few reps? If this is you, then you need to understand you’ll never get anywhere without putting the effort in, especially when it comes to exercise. When you’re at the gym, try a workout like this to see some results:

  • 10 minutes on the treadmill- Jogging.
  • 5 minutes on the bike- Fast paced.
  • 20 sit ups x 2 with a 1 minute rest in between.
  • 15 lunges on each leg using 8kg dumbbells x2 with 2 minute rest.
  • 20 squats using 12kg kettle bell x 2 with 2 minute rest.
  • 5 minute walk on the treadmill to cool down.

If you follow that routine you should be onto a winner in terms of seeing results. Next comes the hard part, the eating. With winter coming up, people find it increasingly hard to stick to a good diet. But if you couple it with exercise it’ll really pay off. If you’re looking to lose weight fast then there are some really effective diets out there. The keto diet is popular among celebrities and does have really fast effects. You can supplement the diet with shakes to help you along. The delicious pruvit chocolate swirl is great for helping you lose weight whilst staying healthy on the keto diet. There’s also the Atkins diet which has really quick effects. If you’re not looking to put your body through too much stress, then cutting out fatty foods and sugar and sticking to healthy meals will see your body weight drop pretty quickly. It is important to remember to combine the healthy eating with exercise in order to see results.

So, if the bulking life really isn’t for you, it is easy to see that maintaining a healthy body weight is easy enough to do, even over winter!
