Best Exercises Without Equipment

Sometimes we want to work out but don’t have time to go to the gym or maybe we’d rather stay home, do our workout and return straight back to home base. Perhaps you don’t even want to leave, but don’t have any equipment. There are so many different ways to get in an effective workout without any machines or any other equipment like weights. Sounds too good to be true? Not so! If you find yourself too time constrained or too lazy to go to the gym, try one of these other workouts.

Run
Nothing wrong with a good old run. Running has so many health benefits and is a great workout on its own. While you can do a run on a treadmill, you can also run just on the street. That makes running such a great workout when you don’t have the time to drive somewhere and don’t have any equipment. Since you can decide how far you want to go, you control the length of the workout. Only got half an hour before you need to be somewhere? Go for a quick few mile run and you’ve easily got your workout in for the day.

Do Circuits
You probably know what a circuit is, but if not it’s essentially a workout with several different moves and you repeat each one so many times, do the next one and repeat until the end and then that’s one circuit. You can do as many of these as you like.

Usually these circuits include things like push-ups, burpees, squats, hip thrusts, planks, crunches and other equipment-less moves.

Animal Moves
If you have kids, this is a great workout because you can actually involve them in it as well. Things like crab walks, bear crawl, bunny hops, arm circles, arm flaps like birds, the list goes on. While these are ‘fun’ moves, they’re also very effective at getting in a decent workout. Sure they won’t compare to benching 50 pounds, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t effective or fun.

Lift Weights With Items You Already Have
If you want to get in a weightlifting workout but realize you haven’t got any weights, never fear! You can make your own weights. Got a gallon of milk or a huge bag of rice? You can improvise with these to make weights to get in a good enough workout before you can get to the gym.

While none of these workouts are super high-intensity, they’re still good and will get you the required amount of exercise you should get in a day. If you have no equipment and want to still do your workout, these are still great options.
