Bentley Bentayga “First Edition” Luxury SUV

Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder, which is especially true when it comes to car design. I may love a car’s design which everyone thinks is ugly, and vice versa. But there are some designs that are universally loved and some universally hated.

Modern Bentley cars are not very pretty to look at, in my humble opinion, but they do have the “it” factor and I like most of them, the only exception is the Continental GT, which looks quite unappealing to me. Speaking of unappealing designs, Bentley recently decided to dip its toes in the SUV market, giving the world the Bentayga SUV…. and it is one hideous looking vehicle, in my opinion.

To me the Bentley Bentayga looks like a Porsche Cayenne took a sh*t on a Bentley Mulsanne sedan, and then end result is the Bentayga. The interior on the other hand is what you’d expect in a high end luxury vehicle.

For the first batch of these high-end SUV’s, Bentley is calling them “First Edition” with special plaques on the exterior and interior. 608 of these special edition vehicles will be produced, the first of which was showcased at a special event for some “very important people” in Los Angeles.

As unimpressive as the exterior design is of the Bentayga, the vehicle does have pretty impressive performance figures. The big beast is powered by a 6-liter twin-turbo W12 engine, producing 600 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque, helping it reach the 60 mph mark in a very impressive 4.0 seconds. I guess if you go fast enough, no one will be able to see how ugly the Bentayga is 😉
