I’ve been blathering on about Watch Dogs for weeks now, and I don’t expect that to let up until the game’s release on May 27th. You see, Ubisoft is releasing so much stuff to talk about, some great, and some, shall we say… not so great.
Today they’ve released a new trailer showing off the various characters you’ll intereact with, both friend and foe. Aiden Pearce may be quite a character, but he’s just one of many and it’s time we meet the others. Check this out:
Recognize the song? If so, please leave me a comment, because though I’ve heard it before, I can’t think of the damn name!
Here’s who we met in the trailer for those that missed it and couldn’t be bothered to pause:
- Clara Lille – A Hacker
- “T-Bone” Grady – A supposedly smart fellow who likes to blow things up
- Jordi Chin – A fixer with principles, whatever that means. I’m assuming a mechanic who doesn’t rip people off? (fun fact: Jordi is voiced by Aaron Douglas, aka Chief Tyrol in Battlestar Galactica)
- Anthony “Iraq” Wade – An ex-army guy with bad hair
- Dermot “Lucky” Quinn – A charming old-timey crime lord
- Aiden Pearce – The hero of the story?
Here’s what amazes me most of all: the characters look great.
I’m sorry to say that Ubisoft has a spotty history when it comes to putting together good looking characters. The people of Assassin’s Creed were the stuff of nightmares, and I felt that Far Cry 3 was one of their first games to actually have people that looked like, well… people. I don’t know why they’re so inconsistent, but whatever they’re doing with Watch Dogs, let’s hope they keep it up.
As I mentioned earlier, it’s just a few short weeks until we get can our hands on the game. The official Watch Dogs release date is May 27th for all platforms that actually matter, so uh… get ready for it.
I believe the song is Can’t Kill Us by the Glitch Mob.
You’re right, thanks!
fixer (noun) – a person who makes arrangements for other people, especially of an illicit or devious kind.
