2019 Lincoln MKC Review

So, we’re back with another Lincoln MKC review and this time it’s the 2019 model. The 2019 Lincoln MKC is ready to win hearts with some enhancements in the design of the car’s face. At the end of the day, it’s essentially a light makeover which included a nose job and a facelift. It remains one of the most sought-after entry-level SUVs that define luxury. The basic model is priced at a little less than $35000 CAD.

The MKC model is being sold in 4 trim models: Base, Select, Reserve, and Black Label.

Even the Base model comes with the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, premium audio quality, and 18-inch wheels. The “Black Label” model is high-end and is decorated with eye-catching interiors. Additional perks offered with the Black Label model are on-demand car wash service, annual car detailing, exclusive restaurant reservation with concierge services.

The 2019 Lincoln MKC is powered by two-engines – 2.0-liter turbo-4 and an optional 2.3-liter turbo-4. Both engines deliver 240 hp and 285hp each. The dual engine models are available in front- and all-wheel drive options, while the 2.3-liter turbo variant is only available as all-wheel drive.

Whether it’s the exterior or the interior of the car, the overall design deserves mention. The design of the earlier model lacked detailing. The front-end styling and grille are two impeccable features that have been picked from the Navigator. The new centerpiece is endowed with chrome and is sculpted. Slightly reshaped LED headlights and a sturdy bumper makes the front design more appealing. The brushed metal and wood grain finishes provide the windows with a chic look.

2019 Lincoln MKC – Performance

If you’re looking for a smooth, luxury standard ride, then 2019 Lincoln MKC is the one for you. While the 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine is good for maintaining a smooth ride, the 2.3-liter turbo-4 engine is the powerhouse. The turbocharged engines are good performers on all kinds of terrains. With dual 6-speed transmissions accessible, both the engines combine to offer a great experience.

The complicated yet adjustable damper system keeps everything under control in different conditions. All in all, MKC is ideal for long drives. In the “Sports” mode, the MKC is a bit rough. Nevertheless, when it comes to the handling and overall ride performance, MKC stands shoulder to shoulder with its rivals BMW and Audi.

2019 Lincoln MKC – Comfort and space

The 2019 Lincoln MKC is made of superior-quality materials. The Black Label variant is dressed in a variety of interior themes such as Indulgence (Ziricote wood and brown leather), Heritage (Argento wood and white leather), etc. Everything about the interiors, right from the cabin material to the material of the seats is high-class. The interior of the base model is dressed in cloth and synthetic leather. At each trim, you’ll find luxury plus one. The seats are spacious and comfortable. The only drawbacks are the head room and leg room that suffer because of the overall dimensions of the car. However, the rear legroom is 36.8 inches and should be enough for the legs. We also observed some lack of cushioning on the rear seats. Based on the rear legroom and headroom, the car is suitable for a family with kids. However, if you’re planning to buy it for an all-adult pack, you need to do a proper test drive before committing.

2019 Lincoln MKC – Fuel economy

When it comes to the fuel economy, there’s a lot of room for improvement. In the case of front-wheel drive, it is 27 mpg highway, 20 city, and 23 combined. The numbers do not stand strong against BMW X3 and Audi Q5. In the case of all-wheel drive, it is 25 mpg highway, 19 city, and 21 combined.
