2014 Jeep Cherokee – What The Eff?

Seriously, what in the world is this shit? The Jeep Cherokee disappeared off the map for a few years and its back and looking fuglier than ever! The 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be replacing the Jeep Liberty as their new mid-size SUV. If you think the Nissan Juke is unique looking, think again. I don’t really even know what to say about this new SUV besides making my point of it being hideous to the power of 10. It’s good to be unique in this competitive market but maybe a little too much in the case of this new Jeep Cherokee.

It would make a lot of sense if these photos were released on April 1st but I’m afraid that’s not the case here. What does this thing remind you off? I think the main issue here is the name of the vehicle. The Jeep Cherokee was a great SUV and quite capable. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee might be capable in the performance department as well but the design aspect of it does not live up to the Cherokee name. Maybe if it was a completely new SUV with a different name, the reaction might be different from everybody.

All-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be making its world premiere at the 2013 New York International Auto Show in March. According to Jeep, the new Cherokee will be setting a new standard in best-in-class capability, on-road driving dynamics, and an improvement of 45 percent in fuel economy compared to their outgoing mid-size SUV. If it can’t deliver in the looks department then I’m glad to hear that it will make improvements in other important areas.

More details to follow but there are rumours that it will feature a 3.2-liter V6 engine as well as four-cylinder engine options. I’m interested to see what the interior will look like. What do you guys think of the design?

  1. in response to the Jeep article. In today’s market, I think SUV mfgs (as in all mfgs.). are trying to appeal to the younger market, and it appears “everyone” is looking for the “unique” looking driving machine. For example, who would have thought Buick would come out with an SUV as sensuous as the enclave? Again, aiming towards a broader market that wants the SUV, but not just the standard (past) boxy versions. As for the Juke, well, I know it was suppose to be geared toward the “younger” generations, yet I know of many “seniors” who have bought one, and are quite happy with them. They are both (jeep and juke) edgy and different, appealing to a new market. Just my opinion.

    Thanks for the interesting articles.

    Terry.

    • I don’t know if the younger generation would like it, or even afford it haha. I actually like the Juke and to me the new Cherokee looks nothing like it.
