Aquaskipper – Segway For The Water?

We’ve all heard about the Segway and how it ended up being a big flop. Well, I think I’ve just found the water version of that. What I’m referring to is the Aquaskipper.

I love the summer weather and being out and about near the water, beaches, boats, pools, inner tubes, jet skis, etc. When I first heard about the Aquaskipper and it was only being described to me, I thought it was a pretty sweet device. But then I saw a demonstration video and my opinion changed. I must say, the idea of it is pretty cool but the whole package just doesn’t work for me.

The Aquaskipper is capable of propelling up to speed of 17 miles per hour by the user climbing on board and basically jumping up and down as if you were doing so on a Pogo Stick. The main reason why this doesn’t work for me is the fact that you look like a complete jackass doing this. Because it involves jumping up and down, the only people that should be allowed on this device are hot chicks with above average busts. Once your jumping stops, the Aquaskipper will come to a halt, lose balance, and tip over into the water. You then have to start over at the shore or docks.

The Aquaskipper will set you back $500. For that money, I would rather do a weekend get away and rent a cabin and a boat.
