How many showers do we really need in a week?

Personal hygiene is important and it’s likely that you may have heard of a number of people that are skipping showers or skipping the process of washing their hair quite so much. When we look closely at the number of showers that we need to really be hygienic and to enjoy better health, the amount that we actually need good shock you. Here are how many showers we actually need in a week:

Most health officials recommend taking a shower at least every other day. Most people can shower every 2 to 3 days without experiencing any problems with body odor or changes to their skin tone. I shower every day won’t necessarily make you healthier, it can actually help to cleanse away extra bacteria which can strengthen your immune system and your skin.

There are some people that may require a daily shower however. If you live in a hot or humid environment, work a dirty job or you tend to be prone to excess bacteria and odors, it could be wise to shower every day without fail.

If you do decide to only shower once every 2 to 3 days, it is still important to work on preventing germs on certain areas of your body. Your face needs to be cleaned at least daily. As this type of skin is often much more sensitive and oil in your skin can cause breakouts, it remains very important for you to regularly clean your face each morning.

Your hands will also require ongoing washing throughout the day even if you are planning on skipping a shower.

When you consider a full week cycle, you may only need a shower 3-4 times in a week in order to enjoy healthy skin.
