Why I Think all Men Should Consider a Life in the Country

As a professional, modern gent you probably haven’t thought much past your city life. The bright lights and big dreams of the city can be intoxicating. But, living in the city is not the be all and end all, particularly these days. I think it’s entirely possible to get the life you crave living in the countryside. In fact, I would recommend country life to anybody.

There are so many advantages to relocating to a more rural location. We’ve all been to the country before, but it might only have been on holiday. It’s easy to look at it as some area your parents move to when they retire. But, in reality there is so much on offer when you move out in the sticks. And I’m going to change all your misconceptions by telling you why I feel all men should consider a life in the country.

It’s Perfect for a Family

Now, a lot of us might start thinking about a family as we get a bit older. You’re probably in a relationship, and if it’s long term, there may well be talk of kids. The fact of the matter is that homes in the city are often too small for raising a family. You need somewhere larger and more practical. You’ve even got the opportunity of looking at country house plans and designing your own family home. This is something it would be much more difficult for you to accomplish in the city.

You Can Get a Great Off-Road Car

Like many of us, I love my cars, and I’ve always wanted to have a huge, hulking off-road beast. Something like a Land Rover has always been on my bucket list. But cars like this are simply impractical for city life. They are too big and too high-maintenance for the back streets of the city. But, in the country you can go nuts with cars like this. If you’ve always wanted an off-road vehicle (you know you have), then this is another massive benefit of country living.

A Dog Would be Ideal

As they always say, a dog is a man’s best friend. And if you have a dog then life in the country would be perfect. Sure, there’s no reason you can’t have a dog in the city. But, think about how great it will be for the dog to have a sprawling landscape to enjoy. You’ll also find you can justify owning a dog a lot more in the countryside. You’ll have the space and scenario to warrant one. It would also be great for personal security for the home too. Moving to the country gives you the perfect reason to get that dog you’ve always wanted.

There’s Plenty of Space for Friends to Visit

Another excellent part about living in the country is the space you will have. This means you can have a lot of friends visit regularly. When you move away, the secret to long distance friendships is regular contact. You’re going to be able to have friends over a lot more than you would have done in your cramped city apartment. This means you can still hold onto the important parts of your old life while enjoying the new one at the same time.

I know you probably think that you need to be in the big cities these days. But that really isn’t the case at all. In fact, a lot of jobs these days allow you to work from anywhere. And, even in the countryside there are more facilities nowadays than there were. So, make sure you consider a life in the country; I guarantee you won’t regret it.
