Like most men, the thing I want most out of a vacation is a cold drink and some relaxation but I have to admit that even that, hard as it is to believe, can get old after five or six days. That’s why these days when I am looking for a great place to visit, whether on a vacation or just a new, exciting trip, I look for places that have lots to offer (including those tasty, cold drinks).
One of the places that tops this list for me is Costa Rica. While many of you know Costa Rica for its tropical paradise themes of beautiful beaches and luscious plant life (which one its own is enough), this destination has even more to offer than that! In this article, I will explore some of Costa Rica’s famous places to visit for vacation so that you can see what you’ve been missing and plan your trip soon!
Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve
Part of Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica’s smallest protected green space, this biological reserve is full of beautiful trails, untamed beaches, secluded coves and more. Is this the secret location of Finca Bellavista?
Enjoy Costa Rica’s incredible beauty while also experiencing a little bit of privacy from the tourist packed places elsewhere.
Arenal Volcano
Let’s face it, this one is for you daredevils out there. Arenal is one of the world’s most active volcanoes… enough said.
This volcano is majestic, rising over 5,000 feet in the air. For those of us, like myself, who don’t have as high a need for adrenaline rushes, you can still enjoy the beauty of this incredible natural occurrence from afar.
Tabacon Hot Springs
This little slice of heaven is gorgeous and seeing it in person is reason enough to go check it out; however, if you happen to be traveling Costa Rica with your beautiful wife, girlfriend, mistress, etc., this hot spring (which you are allowed to bathe in) just might lead to some other hotness, as well. You’re welcome in advance.
Guanacaste
While the most enticing reason to head to Guanacaste is probably its series of secluded beaches, this pristine area offers a stark contrast in climate from much of the rest of Costa Rica’s rainforest, misty atmosphere. From Guanacaste you can see the distant, but visible, volcanoes, while at the same time being within walking distance of numerous fishing villages.
If you’re the type of traveler that wants to immerse yourself in the local culture, vying to stay far from the tourist-friendly resorts, this is a great place to check out.
There is almost an endless list of things, places, and activities you can find depending on what you hope to enjoy during your time in Costa Rica. These are but a few that I believe are unique and exciting. Also, you can utilize websites such as TravelExcellence.com to find specific opportunities during your stay. I can’t wait to find new and exciting adventures to share with you in the future!
