Top 5 Sportswear Outfit Trends for Summer 2019

Athletic leisurewear has been topping men’s fashion trends lists for a couple of years now, and it is well and truly here to stay. Not just for working out but for everyday wear, it is not longer considered just for the gym or a way to ‘dress down’. Far from it, decent sportswear is now a way to show style and personality.

It is no surprise that the biggest style trend this year is sustainable fashion. Clothing made to last and produced through ethical, environmentally friendly means. It is better to buy a few decent classic pieces that will stand the test of time. But what styles to go for that will not become out of style after one season. Here are some great trends to look out for that also have staying power.

Mismatched prints mean being bold

The big theme being used this year is maximalism. This means being bold with colours and prints in ways that you wouldn’t usually see in menswear.

There are no rules when it comes to prints. Clashing patterns and colours are the way to go, and one of the best ways to do this is with t-shirt and bomber jackets. It’s also a way to show your true inner personality and be quite fun with your clothes. Mens clothing is notoriously low key. This summer it doesn’t have to be, you can go wild and be proud of it.

The tank top is definitely staying for the summer

Whether for sport or just casual, the tank top is great for the summer, and a key piece this year. For warmer weather it looks great on its own, but can also be worn layered up with jackets and hooded tops. Don’t just stick to the classic white though, remember clashing patterns are also in so this is another way you can also meet that trend too.

New style sneaker silhouettes

Adidas originals are really pushing design this year, and have already released several  new shapes for 2019. The Adidas Sobakov is the latest release, with a design inspired by soccer they are the new must have style for 2019. Available in both black and neutral tones, with a thick, ribbed knit upper material. The stripes extend from the heel and are inspired by the adidas Predator line. Definitely a style that will stand out and compliment any outfit.

Adidas is not the only brand releasing new shapes this year, Nike are also doing the same. Revamping classic styles but with a twist. Of course, any design released by these two sneaker giants instantly become a classic, so you don’t need to worry about them going out of style.

Full matching kit for coordinated style

Rather conversely when you consider the mismatched bold prints is also a trend, that look just isn’t for everyone.

Luckily there is a very coordinated option at the top of the list for fashion trends in sportswear this summer. Matching tracksuits. It definitely has a retro feel, think 1980’s breakdancing, yet it has been freshened up in 2019 and co-ords are very stylish and modern this year. Not to mention incredibly comfortable.

Rock that logo sweatshirt

This is a style that started to creep in in 2018, with brands like Supreme and Gucci leading the way. 2019 takes that one step further and a big brash logo, or sports team is really making a come back.

It is leading on from the growing 90’s revival trend that is being seen across menswear and womenswear, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
