As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more particular about almost everything in my life.
I’m more choosy when it comes to making new friends, I only see movies that really, really excite me, and when it comes to games? Well… let’s just say I’m not the “gaming as a second job” type of gamer I was during my late teenage and early adult years; I just don’t have the time or inclination to put up with bullshit anymore. Thankfully, there are still a few game studios out there that put out fantastic games, time and again. They’re usually smaller, and they usually don’t give a shit, and CD Prokekt Red is one such company.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Debut Trailer
If you haven’t heard of The Witcher franchise before, then I implore you to pick up the first few games. They’re awesome for many reasons, but what you’ll find really stands out is the story… and the boobs. Yes, the boobs stand out as well, almost as much as Geralt’s pointy… sword. But in any case, the games are absolutely fantastic, and now CD Project is working on a new game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
To help kick things off, they’ve just released this brand new gameplay trailer for E3 2013.
What did you think? For those of you who have played the previous Witcher games, I’m sure you’ll agree that this one looks a whole lot better in the graphics department. They’ve taken an already solid looking game engine and made it even prettier. And speaking of prettier, but Geralt seems to have… how shall I put this… de-oldified? I’m not one to deny a middle aged man a shot at vitality, but to me, the difference is quite noticeable. Any idea why they might have done that?
Now, in terms of the meat and potatoes of the game, the gameplay, I also noticed that the combat looks even smoother than the previous iteration. As a man of many fighting talents, I have no doubt this is going to come in very handy through the course of Geralt’s latest adventures. I only hope that this time around CD Projekt decides to include, oh… I don’t know, a tutorial? Yes, unfortunately even brains like me still need those.
Witcher 3 Release Date?
So… yeah… about that. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have no idea when this sucker is actually hitting store shelves. Given how long they’ve been developing the game, and how the next generation of consoles are coming out at the end of the year, I have a feeling we’ll be seeing this as one of the launch titles, or perhaps shortly after. At least, I certainly hope so. I need some new video game conquests, and as you may have noticed in the trailer, it seems that even Mermaids are up for a little action this time around.
