We can learn a lot about fashion when we look back at times gone by. In fact, fashion made much more sense then than it does now. I mean, what’s the point in wear jeans around your thighs, showing the world your pants? That’s one thing I’ll never understand. If you’re just as confused about that kind of thing as me, here’s some old fashion advice the modern man should take:
Dress Well Every Day
Instead of wearing scruffy clothes, try to dress well every day. Of course you need to take the occasion into account. You’re going to feel a little silly turning up to a casual lunch wearing a suit and tie. However, your clothes should be clean, ironed, and well put together. Every day is a good excuse to dress well, so make the most of it. It’ll have an instant effect on your mood too. You need to wear clothes you like, so don’t feel pressured to wear clothes just because somebody else likes them. When you’re wearing clothes you like, you’ll feel and look much better.
Have Your Clothing Tailored to Fit You Properly
When it comes to buying clothing like suits, make sure you have it tailored to fit you properly. If you don’t, you might end up looking like you have a court case to attend. It’s so important that your clothes fit you, so find a good tailor and stick with them. The expense will be worth it!
Make Sure Your Clothing is Practical
Make sure that your clothing not only suits the occasion, but is practical too. If you’re going for a walk, you’ll need waterproof shoes and other practical gear. You want to look good, but you don’t want to ruin your clothes while you’re at it. Before you leave the house ask yourself if your clothing is practical.
Keep it Simple
Don’t make things too complicated. Keep your outfits fairly simple. You should accessorise, but you don’t need to wear lots of different accessories or look too flashy. Maybe just a watch and a good belt. A little more for special occasions. Keeping it simple looks effortless, and women will more than likely be more attracted to you this way. If that’s what you want, that is.
Invest in Your Clothes
Instead of buying throw away fashion, invest in clothes that will last you. Invest in high quality clothing that you won’t get bored of and can wear again and again. You’ll be able to tell the difference between a nice t-shirt and pair of jeans compared to a cheap pair. If you can find bargains or special offers on expensive clothes, get them while you can.
Put some effort into your appearance each day and you’ll feel so much better. Well dressed people are often more approachable and more productive. Although you should never judge a book by its cover, the way you dress can make a big difference. Do you have any thoughts you’d like to share? Leave a comment below!
