We all have days where stress can often come out of nowhere. Sometimes it is caused by a stressful environment, or the actions of someone else may have you on edge. First, understand that stress is very common. Stress is our body’s way of telling us that something could be harmful or hazardous to our health.
The following information is by no means professional medical advice, but some of these solutions may help you calm down when stressed. Take a look.
Weight lifting and/or cardio workouts are a great way to release a significant amount of pent up energy that may be causing stress. You don’t need a gym to do this either. Running, jumping jacks, squats, etc. can all be done within a close proximity, or even at home. Working out can loosen your muscles, which in turn, should relieve a lot of built up tension in your body.
Take A Cold Shower
Although cold showers aren’t the most popular solution for stress relief, they can have a positive impact physically and mentally. Cold showers can help reduce muscle soreness after a workout, increase blood circulation, and soothe skin. All of these relieving effects can have a positive impact on your body, including feeling calm and stress-free when you hop out of the shower.
Remove Yourself from the Situation
Sometimes the cause of your stress isn’t linked to your body, but rather to a toxic situation. You may be in a heated argument with someone, or the people around you are creating a negative environment.
In this case, the best thing to do is to leave the situation. If you have a vehicle, go for a drive somewhere where you can calm down and give yourself a chance to breathe. If you can’t drive anywhere, try going for a walk or have someone come and pick you up. This might even give you a chance to vent, which can also help calm you down.
Another solution you may want to try is cannabinoids, which are compounds from cannabis. Many cannabinoids can be derived directly from hemp, which is more widely legal in the United States.
Top hemp-derived cannabinoids that have been reported to increase relaxation and a calm mind include cannabidiol (CBD) and Delta-8 THC edibles. Although these effects are not guaranteed, it may be worth a shot.
If you feel overwhelmed by stress daily, there may be a root cause that should be addressed. Consult with your doctor if this is the case. But remember to always listen to your body and see what helps calm you down once triggered. The solutions above are a great place to start.
