Grillbot – The BBQ Cleaning Robot

Winter is packing up its bag up and almost on its way out and the majority of us couldn’t be happier. Before you know it, it will be the hot summer season filled with camping, beaches, hot girls wearing very little, and the smell of barbecue grills cooking delicious food in practically every neighborhood. But with the barbecue grilling also comes the dreaded task of cleaning up all that grime buildup. I don’t know about you guys but we try to avoid that chore until it’s absolutely time to clean the grill. This is where the Grillbot comes into play and can save you some time and the hassle of cleaning the grill.

The Grillbot is kind of like a Roomba but for the barbecue. The device is a single button operated bot which perches on your grill and automatically cleans the grilling surface whether it’s a gas grill or charcoal. The Grillbot will clean a cold grill surface as well as a hot grill.

The idea was born when the inventor of the Grillbot attached a brush to a power drill and attempted to clean the barbecue grill. Two years of perfecting the product, and the Grillbot is pretty much ready for the market place. The Grillbot features push button operation and runs off of three electric motors. The device also features three replaceable brushes.

There are two variants of the Grillbot available with the basic model priced at $69.95. The basic model features an alarm system that will notify you when the grill has been cleaned and requires six D-Cell batteries (not included). The Premium Grillbot is priced at $99.95 and has two additional features such as the built-in LCD alarm and timer as well as a rechargeable battery with AC adaptor. Both models have a smart CPU which regulate the speed and direction of the Grillbot.

The Grillbot is currently in the pre-order stage and will be ready for delivery in mid June this year. For more details, checkout the Grillbot site. What do you guys think? Something worth buying or a waste of money? I have a feeling people will use it once and then resort to cleaning the grill the traditional way…by hand. We’ll see if Unfinished Man can review one and put it to the test.
