Exercise Without Actually Having to Exercise

We all know the feeling. You pay for a gym membership and you go maybe once, maybe twice, maybe even three times, but you just feel like your wasting money, but you think if you cancel the membership then you really never will go. This is a problem tons of people face, and if you’re a gym rat then this post is not for you.

However, if that above scenario sounds familiar, there are plenty of ways you can get in exercising without actually needing to go to the gym. Don’t continue to waste your money, but also reap the benefits of exercising and staying healthy.

Always Take The Stairs
You’ve heard it before, but you probably haven’t listened. Taking stairs is incredible exercise and if you opt for the stairs every time you come across them rather than an escalator or elevator you’ll already be adding a ton of exercise into your daily routine.

It might take a little bit longer, but it will be 100% worth it in the long run.

Walk Wherever You Can
Nowadays we have people getting upset because they have to park 10 spaces down the row rather than the first one. That’s just sad. If you have the option, get in as much walking as possible. If it’s just down the road, walk, if nothing else it will clear your head and give you some fresh air and time to be alone with yourself and think.

If you’re in a parking lot, park the furthest spot away, it won’t kill you and walking gets the blood flowing and you’ll feel like a newer person.

Do Something Fun And Sporty
When you’re doing something fun like hiking, rock climbing, kayaking or dancing it never quite feels like exercise. Do it with friends, take someone on a date and go whitewater rafting, it’ll be unique, fun and you’ll get in tons of exercise without the mental blocks that come with running on a treadmill or sitting on a stationary bike.

Stand Up More
Did you know you can get exercise simply by standing up more? Not only is it technically exercise, but it’s also good for your health in general. Humans aren’t built to sit at a desk in one position all day, so getting up and moving around a bit more than a few times a day can be super beneficial.

Don’t just ask your friend to bring you a coffee and it’s ok to get up and get moving for no reason a few minutes a day.

None of these things will change your appearance overnight, but by consistently doing them you’ll be getting tons of extra exercise and you’ll be feeling more healthy and you won’t even need to force yourself to the gym.
