Now we are heading into another lockdown, you might be a bit trepidatious about how you are going to entertain yourself this time around. Whether you are alone or with people over the next month, we have all the activities to help get you through.
Host A Games Night
By now, you have probably mastered the pub quiz. However, games night doesn’t have to just consist of quizzes. If you live with other people, then it’s a good time to dust off the board games and get the family together. If board games aren’t your thing, then how about a game of charades, bingo, or Pictionary? If you’re an adult, you can incorporate some drinking games into your night. To keep things interesting, why not get your friends and family involved by connecting through a video call.
Watch The Champions League
Even though we are heading into another lockdown, for now, the Champions League is still going ahead. So now you have the time, you can catch up on all the upcoming games.
Listen To A Podcast
You might find you are all TV’d out after the previous lockdown and there is nothing left to watch. Podcasts and audiobooks are a great alternative. Whether you are into comedy, current affairs or would like to have a book narrated to you, there is something for everyone.
Do A Home Workout
In the last lockdown, there was a surge in people getting active at home. If you are looking to stay or get active, then there are a variety of online videos and apps you can use. Exercising is an excellent way to clear your mind and take away the stresses you may be feeling during this time.
Get Started On Christmas Shopping
We know money might be a little tight this year, but Christmas is coming. So let us try and end this year on a happy note by buying your loved ones some thoughtful gifts. Yes, we know the high street shops are shutting but online shopping is still very much there. So while you are having a bit of quiet time, you can focus on getting those present organised ready for Christmas.
Learn A New Skill
Now is the perfect time to learn that new skill you have always been too busy for, whether it’s a new language, learning to cook or taking an online course. Don’t let this opportunity pass as there won’t be many more shots once life gets back to normal.
Host Your Own Come Dine With Me
If you are a uni student or live with other adults, we think it would be fun to host a Come Dine With Me night. You can go all out and create your own themed night and score each other at the end of the night. Depending on how many there are of you, it will keep you entertained for a number of nights.
Organize Your Wardrobe
Most of us have clothes in our wardrobe that never see the light of day. Now is a good time to take everything out and sort the items to keep and to get rid of. You will feel so much better once your wardrobe isn’t overgrown with unworn clothes. When you have bagged them all up drop them off at the charity shop or sell them online so they can have a chance to be worn.
Complete Odd Jobs
So most of us dabbled in the small odd jobs around the house throughout the last lockdown. So we would consider ourselves experts now, right? If you haven’t finished your odd jobs from before or still need to start them, then get yourself organised now.
Set Some Goals
Make some goals that you can look forward to after lockdown and restrictions are lifted. If you find yourself struggling through lockdown, then create smaller daily or weekly goals.
Learn To Make Cocktails
Learning how to make cocktails is great fun as you get to try them out as you make them. It’s a great skill to pull out when you next host a party (post-lockdown of course).
Take An Online Tour
As we can’t get outside, many online tours have since been popping up. We have seen some at Harry Potter Studios, British Museum In London and you can even watch the animals at the Edinborough zoo. Do some research to see if you can find some more.
Catch Up On Your TV Shows
If you haven’t already, it’s a good time to catch up on all those tv shows you have missed. Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime are life savers if you are feeling like there’s nothing else to do. As Christmas is coming up, you can even start on the Christmas films, we don’t think it’s too early if you don’t.
Time to clear your throat and belt out your favorite tunes. To make it interesting, hold your own Eurovision contest, get dressed up and make a whole evening of it.
Research Your Family Tree
If you have ever been interested in your family history, then why not do some research on your family tree. There are lots of websites out there to help get you started. You can then video call all your family and tell them what you have found.
Just because it’s colder this lockdown, you should deter from heading out. Wrap yourself up and head out for a nice family walk. Getting out can be good for your health, so try and get some fresh air at least once a day.
Unplug for the day
You might find yourself continually entertaining yourself through technology, spend a day unplugging from all technology. You will be surprised how positive your mindset changes when you turn off from social media and the outside world.
We hope we have given you some ideas to keep you going. The most important thing is to stay busy and not put too much pressure on yourself.
