Beautiful Kayaks by Nick Schade

Nick-Schade-Guillemot-Kayaks

Nick Schade is an artist in every sense of the word but not in the way you’d think, he doesn’t use paint and canvas, rather, he showcases his art by building beautifully crafted kayaks that would feel right at home in a museum.  And that is why one of his kayaks is displayed at the Museum Of Modern Art (MOMA).

Nick has been building these handmade kayaks since 1986 at his company Guillemot Kayaks, using Computer Aided Drafting and unique to canoe building techniques such as “strip-built”.  Nick loves what he does so much that he even wrote a book on how to build kayaks for those that have a bit more skill than the average backyard mechanic/handy man.  Prices on the kayaks vary depending on which model you choose.
