We don’t normally associate the Republic of Slovenia with producing exotic sports cars, but here they are – officially introducing the Tushek Renovatio T500 to UK clients at the 2012 Salon Prive. Tushek Supercars was founded by Aljosa Tushek, Slovenian race car driver, in 2011. Work on the Renovatio T500 started in 2008, several years prior to the registration of the Tushek Supercars trade mark.
The Renovatio T500 uses the Slovakian K1 Attack car’s tubular chassis while adding their own sleek and sexy carbon fiber body. While the K1 Attack was powered by a Honda Civic 2.0-liter motor, the Renovatio T500 features an engine from the Audi RS4. The powerful 4.2-liter V8 produces 450 horsepower and 315 ft-lb of torque. The V8 motor is mid-mounted and linked to the Audi S5’s six-speed manual gear box delivering the 450 ponies to the rear wheels.
The supercar may not be well known to most folks, but it can keep up with the big boys. The Renovatio T500 is lightweight weighing in at only 2,403 pounds and it can perform the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in just 3.7 seconds while achieving a top speed of 193 mph. That’s pretty super car like performance if you ask me.
As with any supercar, the T500 is also hand-built to clients’ specifications at a cost of $370,500. With such a price tag, the car has a similar price point as well known supercars such as the Lamborghini Aventador and the McLaren MP4-12C.
The Tushek Renovatio T500 sits on 19” aluminum forged wheels and also features a detachable hardtop which can be stored within the vehicle. The car also has adjustable components such as rear carbon fiber wing, adjustable seats in length, and adjustable pedals and steering column. The T500 also features carbon ceramic brakes, power brakes, and of course, power steering.
Overall, it’s a pretty sexy car, though personally I prefer the styling of the vehicle when the roof comes off. Lastly, I haven’t quite decided if I like the Lamborghini style doors. What do you guys think? Check out Tushek for future announcements and future projects.
