I did a little research on polystyrene and found that it is a known neurotoxin, a possible carcinogen, and the 5th leading producer of hazardous waste.  I called the store to let them know we would be returning it and why, and the manager then acknowledged that there are polymers in the product that are &quot;technically toxic&quot;.
