Wrapping Up Warm For Winter

Winter is here, and that means we need to keep warm against the bracing breezes and dry in the rain that comes every other day. Fashion changes a little when it comes to the winter months for everyone who likes to dabble a little in the art of style. We wear warmer materials that would make us sweat buckets in the summer, and the hats that usually protect us from the sun are shoved right to the back of the wardrobe. So, if you’re having a little trouble in going outside without shivering your hair off of your head, here’s some ideas for you.

Wear More Layers than Usual

Of course layering is a popular move for the winter period, but you can use even more items of clothing than you think when putting an outfit together that looks good and is practical at the same time. So, do away with the short sleeves and pull up your socks, we’re here for some serious layering business.

You can wear multiple coverings on your upper half, considering that’s where your vitals are. So pop a vest on underneath, than a shirt and then a sweat or coat, if that feels warm enough and you have good thick material to adorn. If just an undershirt is still too cold for you, you can snap up a few mens winter vests to make outfits seem more stylish for one, as a waistcoat is a good way to define your body shape, and the woolen craft to them traps in heat on top of anything below it.

Pick Up and Wear Some Insulated Boots

The cold weather downs our natural stamina levels a little and that means you’re going to tire out whenever the breeze hits you. So to make any walking in the cold weather easier, keep your boots on. If you already have a pair of hiking boots, wear these on your way to and from work, and if you’re going for any serious walking anywhere. It’s warmer and more comfortable when everything is going to feel like a long distance, and if you’re off for some more serious activity, it’ll help keep you balanced on snow and ice.

If you don’t own these kinds of boots, you can easily pick up a pair from camping shops or make your own by inserting some lining. This could be in the form of socks if that’s still too hard to come across, as wool or fleece socks can be found in most shops for all sizes and ages. They better the circulation and keep your extremities safe, as most blood is diverted towards your organs in times like these.

Wrapping up warm is a practice we’ve been perfecting our entire lives, let’s be real, but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t use a few little tips from time to time to keep us warmer. The weather varies and so do our activity levels, so we’re always going to experience a little difference each winter.

  1. Damned genius! Wear more clothes when it’s cold. Wow, talk about stating the bleeding obvious. Are your readers worthy of such patronising piffle?!?
