The weekend warmup that I’ve found for you this week is probably one of my favorites yet, so we’re closing out January with some little bit of class. Considering many of us immediately gave up on our get finished resolutions and headed straight back to work in progress, we could use it. Alisha Goldstein is a creative director that started photographing her own works- I’m assuming that naturally grew out of a constant need to remind people on set to “stop drooling on that model- just give me the camera, I’ll do it myself.” Either way, it’s a damn good thing she got behind the lens, because the images she’s turned out are stunning. Of course, beautiful subject Samantha Gradoville doesn’t hurt either; hit the jump to see a lot more of her.
Weekend Warmup – Alisha Goldstein Nude Photography
It’s always great to see the work of a woman behind the lens; it seems that they often have a glamorous, mysterious approaching to shooting sexy photo sets. While some of the male photography I’ve featured in the weekend warmup is sultry and overt, it’s nice to have a different point of view every now and again. Goldstein’s is one with an old Hollywood aesthetic, and statuesque beauty. For whatever reason, most of these shots remind me of Metropolis. While there’s not a lot to directly tie Samantha to the Maria Robot of the famous film, the poses and flashes of metal are enough to have me thinking of art deco design and classy dames. Since it’s quite likely absolutely none of that matters to you, enjoy Alisha’s excellent photography. It should also be noted before going further: Alisha is very easy on the eyes herself.
Most of Goldstein’s other works are for huge fashion brands and iconic campaigns. I especially like all of her images for BCBGMAXAZRIA- you can find her portfolio here at her site. And if you want to know more about Samantha Gradoville and her very perfect…tan… her models.com profile has years worth of work featuring them, ah- it.
