Watch Footage of an Eagle’s POV as it Descends From the Burj Khalifa

Have you ever seen the Burj Khalifa tower? It’s one of two massive towers in Dubai (the other is called the Burj Al Arab) that have been featured in everything from movies like Mission Impossible, to articles right here on Unfinished Man.

They’re massive, beautiful, engineering marvels, and though the photos from the top are stunning, the footage you’re about to watch beats them handsomely.

I was going to suggest that you imagine flying like an eagle, but in reality, you don’t have to… it’s already been done. You’ll be able to watch through the camera on an eagle’s back as it flies around the Burj Khalifa and eventually dive-bombs down to its handler on the streets below.

Pretty cool, right?

I guess this is like an organic drone with a mind of its own. Even so, the eagle seems to respond well to the commands of the handler below. It just goes to show you how absolutely incredible an eagle’s vision is at a distance.

But this video does leave me wondering one thing: how can an eagle support the weight of a camera? I feel like even a small one would be rather uncomfortable, right? If you know something that I don’t about eagle mounted camera technology, feel free to chime in below in the comments.
