Watch Dogs – Commidore 64 Edition

Watch Dogs is hitting digital store shelves in less than a week, and you now what? I won’t get to play it.

I’m on the other side of the country for a wedding, and though I want nothing more than to help the bride and groom have an awesome time, well… Watch Dogs! I’ll have to wait a whole extra week to play it, so unfortunately you’ll have to wait a little longer than usual for my review. In the mean time, Watch Dogs isn’t actually out yet anyway.

So let’s travel back to 1989 for a moment to experience what Watch Dogs would have been like if it were released for the Commodore 64. Created by human Majami Hiroz, this bit of fan art is super stylish, and completely accurate to the platform.

What do you think? Did this bring back memories of your childhood? I would love to say it did the same for me, but unfortunately that was long, long before I had the dexterity to operate a controller of any kind.

In any case…

Watch Dogs is arriving on May 27th, 2014, for all platforms that actually matter. If you’re smart, you’ll pick it up for PC, because, well… consoles just flat out suck, especially this latest generation. If you’re interested in seeing more of Majami’s work, you can also head over to his YouTube channel, as he’s done an insane amount of other video game related tribute videos.

Lastly, if you enjoyed the music in the video, it was done by Zonic Znyth and you’ll find more of it on their official website.
