Want To Be More Masculine? Move To Australia

As far as western countries go, it’s hard to see a more masculine country than Australia. During my visits Down Under, I’ve come across women more masculine than some of the guys I know over here. I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way, either.

The Australian culture lends itself to directness. There is also a lot of focus placed on physical abilities, sporting prowess, and strength. Head to any beach and you will see what I mean – they are no place for pasty, pot bellied tourists; I can tell you.

In fact, just being in Australia makes you more masculine. You can’t help it – and today. I’m going to outline a few of the reasons why. Let’s take a closer look!

The weather

Australians are known for their chirpy attitudes. It is some feat when you consider the baking-hot temperatures they endure over the summer. I’m not exaggerating when I say you could fry eggs on the road at peak times. You will need to adapt to that weather pretty quickly, while at the same time go about your business the same way as everyone else. In other words, you just have to shrug it off and get on with it – pretty much the definition of manliness.

The beasties

You don’t know fear until you wake up in the middle of the night with a Huntsman Spider sitting on your face. These things are immense – and it’s not as if they are pretty to look at, either. Neither are they uncommon. By the time you are 35, you will have had several Huntsmans walk across your face while you are asleep, and dozens of personal encounters in your home.

You will need to work on your ‘spider dance’, of course, so you don’t become the butt of everyone’s jokes. But you’ll also have to learn to confront your fears and get rid of the spiders, large insects and other beasties that inhabit your home with you.

The culture

Australia is a country for outdoors people. Whether it’s hiking in the outback or eating barbeque, everything is geared towards outdoor living. Aussies are big on sports, too. If you get the chance, seek out ANZAC day tickets and watch the Essendon vs. Collingwood Australian Rules Football game. It’s about as spicy and intense as Australian sport can get – and you will come out of the stadium pumped full of testosterone.

The people

While the vast majority of Australians are friendly folk, there is a tendency for them to say what they think. Naturally, this can lead to many a ruckus – especially when alcohol is involved. By and large, these fights will occur, and everyone is friends again afterwards. But you shouldn’t be surprised to get a punch in the face from a drunken companion – and you’ll need to learn to take them.

OK, so if you have ever felt the urge to toughen up, why not save your expensive gym fees and put them towards a new life in Australia instead? It won’t take you long to realise that you will need to ‘man up’ as soon as possible!
