We’ve been writing about quite a few personal water filtration bottles lately here on Unfinished Man. You see, a few of us are planning on taking at least one trip to somewhere exotic this year, and one of these might just come in handy. We’re lucky to have clean drinking water in North America, but some of the trips we’ll be taking are going to be in third world countries, or away from civilization, where the only source of drinking water is streams/lakes or bottled water. Bottled water is out of the question because you can only carry so much, and it does get expensive after a while.
The personal water filtration bottle we’re showing you today is called the Vapur Microfilter water bottle and is the lowest priced of all the bottles we’ve shown you; priced at $9.99. The cool think about the Vapur bottle is that it folds flat, leaving room for other essentials in your bag. The bottle is constructed out of three layers of polyethylene, and comes with a clip that keeps it in a roll when it’s empty.
The Vapur Microfilter water bottle removes up to 99.99% of bacteria, protozoa, and microbial disease; although it doesn’t remove as much stuff as some of the other bottles we’ve written about, it should still be a part of any serious traveler/hiker’s backpack. The foldable bottle uses SureAqua straw as the filter and can clean up to 264 gallons (1,000 liters) of water. The Vapur water bottles can hold up to 0.5 liters of water and come in a variety of colors.
