The RENEssance Man – Parkour in Vancouver, 2012

For those of you that follow our Parkour related posts here at Unfinished Man, you may recall me writing about a then brand new Parkour gym called Origins Parkour & Athletic facility last September. My good friend Rene had just opened the place up, and was excited to show it to the world after many long months of construction. He’s always a busy fellow, and in fact, some would even call him a modern RENEssance man. Get it? Get it?? *sigh*.

In any case, it seems that putting together a world class Parkour gym wasn’t the only thing he’s been doing. No, he’s also been perfecting a wide range of silly faces and yes, a little bit of Parkour too… but that’s secondary. As you’re about to see in the video below, line a fine wine, Res has only gotten better with age.

If you’re a fellow Vancouverite, then most of the places you just saw in the video should be immediately recognizable; they’re all popular training spots for the enthusiasts in the city. The great thing, though, is that perhaps you can use this video as a bit of inspiration… you know, for moving around those training spots. I’ve certainly picked up a few ideas for my next visit into the city.

More Res

If you’re interested in seeing more of Rene jumping and flying all over the place, then you can start by checking out this video he did back in 2010. To borrow an extremely geriatric phrase, it’s an oldie but a goodie. After that, head on over to his official YouTube page and take a look around. He’s done dozens of videos, and many of them are information, both for Traceurs and athletes alike. Perhaps you too can learn to strengthen your face muscles and make silly faces like Res.
