The Cinder Cone Build Book – Dream Treehouse

Guys are always talking about their dream mancave or bachelor pad but there is another living space that often gets ignored. Yes, I’m talking about the ultimate outdoor living space – a dream Treehouse. Here is the perfect opportunity to let your inner child out but on a more mature level. The Cinder Cone Build Book is your guide to building the ultimate treehouse and making your childhood dreams become a reality.

The project was initiated by Foster Huntington of Washington state. The build consists of a treehouse, a skate bowl, and wood burning hot tub. Foster Huntington started the planning phase in February 2014 with his friends and started the build in June. The construction took place in the Columbia Gorge and continued into autumn of 2014 and finally finished in the winter of 2015.

When available, friends would stop by to help out on the awesome project. Some were carpenters and in the industry which must have been a huge bonus while others learned by watching and doing. While the build was taking place, thousands of photos were taken. They also kept the sketches, models, and notes form the entire design process.

Having completed the project, Foster has been spending much of his time organizing the images, notes, and drawings into a book which will be one part instructional, one part photo book, and one part tiny homes book. The idea is to show the entire process from the ground up in the hopes that it will ignite the imagination of others who have also dreamed of doing something similar. Of course you don’t have to build it exactly as Foster Huntington did and but use this book as a foundation for your next big project.

Foster Huntington is turning to Kickstarter to raise the money to print the book. If you are interested in The Cinder Cone Build Book, head over the Kickstater page for more details. Each copy of the book is $30. With 14 days to go, the project only needs another $3,500 for it to be funded.
