Studypool Review

Everyone remembers what it was like to trudge home from school with a mountain of homework. You’d dig into it with the best of intentions and then hit a question or a concept that would have you stumped, bringing everything to a screeching halt. As frustration panic started to set in, you’d become increasingly unable to think clearly to finish the assignment.

Many adults remember this feeling fondly. Ok—perhaps not fondly, but we do remember it well. And microtutoring through Studypool gives adult tutors the ability to step in and save the current generation of students from floundering around without help or guidance.

The thing that makes Studypool so attractive to tutors like myself (as well as students) is that it’s easy to use and incredibly convenient. Sign-up takes just a few minutes and the question-posting interface is intuitive and easy to work with. I simply post a bid on a question on which I’m knowledgeable and feel that I can fully answer within the poster’s time limit.

Microtutoring is flexible work that I can do from home, too, which is a huge plus. A full-time tutoring job wasn’t something I could apply for a year ago, so I started using the Studypool platform to tutor part time. Now that I have more room in my schedule, I’m able to tutor more and Studypool has plenty of room to accommodate it.

Studypool makes tutoring affordable, as well, putting it within reach of students who can’t afford to hire a full-time tutor. If they need a little help, they can post a question for as little as $1. They can also pay more to complete a larger assignment or to do regular work with tutor. I’ve found it to be a fantastic way to make money, earning as much as $500 a week. I’ve seen other tutors who earn even more than that.

One of the most exciting aspects of microtutoring is that you don’t need to be an educational jack-of-all-trades to be a tutor. My degree is in English literature, so I focus on that area, helping students with questions surrounding grammar, composition, and organizing their thoughts and research for essays and papers.

It also gives students the freedom to control their level of expertise in certain topics. Students must learn to self-educate and go the extra mile to fill in the gaps and truly master a subject. If they do this, they’ll do better as they move forward into the workplace and into life.

While I enjoy my work with Studypool, it does have some room for improvement. As I peruse the questions that are begin asked and addressed, I notice that certain topics don’t have as many tutors working in those areas. For instance, the platform desperately needs more tutors in foreign languages. I hope to see this change in the future, because a well-rounded microtutoring environment makes it a better teaching platform for tutors in all areas.

All things considered, I’ve found Studypool to be a wonderful service for both students and tutors alike. It affords all of us the flexibility and confidence to become our best selves, either through learning or through teaching others.
