The Story Behind The Division

I’ve been following Tom Clancy’s The Division for what feels like an eternity now. I first wrote about the game back in 2013 when they were just showing off their new engine, and as you might have noticed, the game still isn’t out yet. In fact, it’s not even close to being released: according to Ubisoft, it’s not being released until March, 2016.

Game delays are always frustrating, but sometimes they result in a much better game. Sometimes they also result in a much worse game, but let’s just not think about that, okay? Instead, let’s think about how a virus could wipe out an entire city, because that’s a big part of the story behind The Division.

Pretty depressing, right? Absolutely, but it does have all the trappings of a great video game story. Now we just need to wait patiently until the game is released in the spring of 2016. Until then, I’ll continue to write about all the latest news, screenshots, and videos that Ubi trickles out over the coming months.
