Sony Turntable High-Resolution Recording

Long are the days of vinyl heyday and you may be mourning that. Whether or not you have a musical ear, vinyl was just better. Better quality, more fun, and you may still have a huge collection of them without any real way to play them. But who wants to replace all of that with some lower quality music from Apple Music or Spotify? Well, Sony has got you covered now with their new product the Turntable Recording.

At $600, this product is not cheap, but it’s pretty amazing what it can do. The turntable comes in two speeds: 33 1/3 r/min and 45 r/m. You may be asking what exactly you’ll be able to do with this turntable, and the answer is a lot! This turntable is perfect for playing vinyl and then recording it into high-resolution sound, digitally capturing analog in the best form.

Essentially what this does is turns your vinyl into something you can actually take around with you, without losing any of the sound quality—which is one of the most important aspects to why you want to keep them in the first place. The device connects via a USB to your laptop, and then you can record whatever the vinyl is playing and then this can be used to put on your mobile devices or music playing device to take with you on the go.

Sony claims “the goodness of vinyl, without the bulk” and they say that the sound is authentic including all the warmth and smoothness that you would find with your vinyl on an actual, real, old-style turntable.

It uses DSD (direct stream digital), pretty much meaning that it records the sound exactly as it hears it, which is why it’s so pure in its quality. It also supports other files such as DSF, PCM and WAV, should you prefer one of those.

Alternatively, you can connect the turntable to any of your existing sound systems for high-quality and amazing audio, and in a way kind of still feel like you’re using a real turntable and go back in time for a bit.

In addition to all that it can actually do, the turntable itself is pretty sleek and modern looking. It’s black with a matte finish and could seamlessly fit into most decors. For $600 you get something made of true quality, so you’re not just throwing your money at something that may break in the next few months or year. Sony boasts that it comes with an acoustic-grade MDF cabinet, insulated structure and a glass proxy circuit board, all which make it not just an excellent speaker, but more durable as well.

Sony also states it has a highly stable belt drive system, a high quality .2-inch rubber mat and finally an aluminum die cast platter.

It may be expensive, but this turntable could be the best thing you ever buy. Don’t let that vinyl collection go to waste.
